Hot on the heels of the flagship South of England Show, preparations are well underway for the Agricultural Society’s next big event on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October.
The South of England Agricultural Society are putting the finishing touches to this year’s Autumn Show & Game Fair programme which promises to provide the sights and sounds of the countryside at harvest time.
With country sports, crafts, falconry, dog agility show, vintage machinery, stunning displays of seasonal flowers and vegetables, a wide variety of trade stands, fun fair and a mouthwatering array of local food and drink, the Show has popular appeal for all ages.
The Game Fair element, now in its sixth year, is steadily gaining momentum as interest in clay pigeon shooting is growing year on year. Dan Kerwood of Northall Clay Pigeon Club at Fletching is once again organising the shoot which gives families the ideal environment in which to try their hand.
Deborah Barber, Director of the South of England Agricultural Society, said: “Autumn may be a little way off, but the planning for our shows is an all year round activity.”
“The Autumn Show & Game Fair is a real seasonal celebration, with something for everyone - and this year’s Show promises to offer country entertainment for the whole family.” The Show is held at the South of England Centre, Ardingly, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and is open from 9am to 5pm on both days. Tickets cost £9 for adults, £7 for students and senior citizens, £5 for children under 16 and £23 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).
