Children will be able to enjoy fun and games throughout the summer as Cats Protection hosts a series of FREE Games Afternoons during the school holidays.
Kids of all ages are invited to join in the activities at the charity's National Cat Centre in Chelwood Gate, Sussex.
The events, on Wednesday 31 July, Wednesday 14 August and Wednesday 28 August will be held between 2pm and 3.30pm, with kids' picnic boxes available to buy (optional) from the Visitor Centre cafe from 12pm.
Outdoor activities will include skittles, goal scoring, egg and spoon races, space hopper racing, bean bag throwing competitions and Jenga. If wet, indoor games will be held in the Visitor Centre's newly opened indoor children’s play area.
All activities are free and children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is advisable by calling 01825 741 370 or emailing visitor.centre@cats.org.uk
Visitor Centre Officer at Cats Protection Dee McDonald said: “Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun in our beautiful surroundings. Rain will certainly not stop play as we've made sure there's plenty of indoor activities if the sun isn't shining.”
Cats Protection's National Cat Centre is set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest and is a great day out for all the family.
Open seven days a week, entry is free and visitors are welcome to explore the Nature Trail, with its unique flock of Hebridean sheep, lake and secret fairy ring. There is also a cafe and shop along with children's play area.
The site is home to the National Cat Adoption Centre, the largest centre of its kind which rehomes over 1,000 unwanted and abandoned cats every year. Visitors are welcome to come and say hello to the cats!
