OUTSTANDING OBEDIENCE AT THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND CENTRE

The long running Championship Obedience Show by the East Grinstead & District Dog Club will be returning to the South of England Centre, Ardingly on 15th October.

The day is perfect for dog lovers from all over Kent and Sussex, with a variety of purebred and crossbreeds being showcased in the multi development obedience show. Visitors can view dogs competing at all levels from those just starting out in their obedience training (pre-beginner classes) up to Crufts Champions in the ‘Championship C’ classes!

The show, which has been running at the centre for over 20 years, is set to get tails and tongues wagging with prizes including rosettes, prize cards and a trophy for the top six dogs in each class and the chance for two championship C winners to compete in the 2012 Crufts in Birmingham!

Visitors are welcome to come down to watch the show but they are not permitted to bring dogs with them unless these dogs have been entered into the obedience event prior to the show date.

Shirley Budgen, Show Secretary, says, “East Grinstead & District Dog Club is a long established training club in East Grinstead. We hold this championship Obedience show every year in October at Ardingly, and this is the only venue large enough to accommodate us in the area!”

The show can be enjoyed from 08.30 – 17.30pm and the event will be held in the large Abergavenny and ‘Robins’ building, perfect for dog shows and indoor exhibitions. All eight classes and 19 rings will be held in the large indoor hall and smaller Robins building. Catering will be available to all visitors and there will be a small amount of trade stands for attendees to visit.

Car parking is in close proximity to the event, with an allocated section for those registered disabled. There is no entry charge for the show.

The South of England Centre is one of the most flexible and unique venues in the country. With its extensive outdoor areas and versatile indoor venues, the centre is very popular among canine societies and hosts a variety of dog shows and training events throughout the year.
